revitalisation of the st. mary monastery complex in dubrovnik

The 12th century benedictine monastery is located in the oldest part of the old city structure, adjacent to the city walls.

The project proposes minimal intervention with inserting new elements necessary for its refurbishment and repurpose. Through these elements a new walkway is created that connects the monastery complex with the city walls. The walkway also connects various cultural functions of the new monastery program - the theater, the gallery, the cultural centre and the new viewpoint. The tower / viewpoint marks the southest point of the old city.
